Botox® is administered by the trained aesthetics experts at Secret 21 Skin Clinic as a fast, simple, nonsurgical treatment which is injected directly into the muscles between the eyebrows. It works by blocking nerve impulses to those muscles thus reducing muscle activity which causes the lines to form between your brows.

FILLER INJECTIONS FOR WRINKLE OR VOLUME LOSS, NOSE CORRECTION, CHEEK BONE LIFT, LIP ENHANCEMENT AND CORRECTION.

At Secret 21 Skin Clinic we exclusively use FDA approved dermal fillers. These are used for volume loss filler, filling in wrinkles, nose correction, cheekbone lift, and lip enhancement and correction. These treatment options are different from Botox which acts to freezes muscles to stop creases and wrinkles caused by facial expressions. Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid and similar substances to “fill in” or plump up areas that have lost volume and smoothness. Hyaluronic acid is a gel like substance found naturally in the body and used to “plump up” skin where volume needs added.

Facial fillers fill the troubled areas with collagen which then helps to stimulate collagen growth in the face as well as plump and lift the skin to replace collagen loss. With dermal fillers you see results immediately unlike Botox which can be up to 10-14 days.

Hyaluronic acid fillers commonly last from 6 to 12 months and (in some circumstances) up to 18 months. The hyaluronic acid fillers are naturally broken down by the body with results fading away without long-term risks.
-
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?More common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain during procedure, redness, itching or rash. Rare side effects include local infection, leakage of filler through the injection site, granulomas (A type of inflammatory reaction to the filler), nodules around the injection site, and movement of the filler.
-
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?Generally, between 30 to 45 minutes depending on location and how many areas are needing to be filled.
-
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?As we age, we lose volume in key areas of the face. This contributes to folds, wrinkles, hollow temples, thinning lips, sunken eyes, and an older appearance to the face. Fillers can be used to restore this volume loss, smooth out folds and wrinkles, and improve contours to achieve natural results without altering facial expression. Certain fillers can also be used to correct scars.
-
IS IT PAINFUL?Most patients experience only mild discomfort. A local anesthetic cream can be applied to the skin prior to the treatment for a more comfortable experience. Many of our fillers are also formulated with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort.
-
SHOULD I EXPECT DOWNTIME?No! You can go right back to your normal routine. However, I always advise my patients that they may have some bruising or swelling, so it is best not to schedule a filler appointment right before any important event.
